The All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared President Bola Tinubu as its sole candidate for the 2027 presidential election.

APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, made the announcement during the party’s national summit on Thursday in Abuja. The event also marked the second anniversary of Tinubu’s administration.

“As chairman of the party and on behalf of the National Working Committee—the legally recognised body to field candidates—I hereby affirm President Bola Tinubu as the sole presidential candidate of the APC,” Ganduje said.

The summit was attended by APC governors, ministers, and other party leaders. Speakers praised the president’s performance, particularly his controversial reforms such as fuel subsidy removal and currency floatation, despite criticism from various quarters.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio declared, “We are not serving him an impeachment notice; we are notifying him that he deserves a second term.”

Tinubu welcomed the endorsement, calling the political defections to the APC part of the democratic process. “That is the game. We are in a constitutional democracy,” he said.
