From ‘Missing’ to Expelled: Babcock Student’s Web of Deceit Unravels
Babcock University, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has expelled one of its students, Oladipupo Siwajuola, for what it described as gross violations of the institution’s code of conduct.
The student, previously at the centre of a widely publicised ‘missing person’ report, was found guilty of several infractions including drug peddling on campus, impersonation, possession and use of fetish items, and unauthorised exit from the university premises.
This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the institution’s Director of Marketing and Communication, Dr. Joshua Suleiman. According to the statement, Siwajuola was subjected to a disciplinary process and found culpable on multiple counts.
Contrary to viral claims made by his mother on social media, the university clarified that Siwajuola left campus on 28 April 2025 without authorisation. Disguised in a hoodie and posing as an outpatient, he exited through the university’s teaching hospital gate.
He reportedly stayed in the Ilishan community before travelling to Lagos, where he was eventually found at a friend’s residence.
According to the university, Siwajuola later confessed to engaging in ‘Yahoo Yahoo Plus’ — a term referring to fetish practices allegedly used to acquire wealth — as well as selling illicit drugs, fraudulently opening a bank account using another student’s identity, and borrowing ₦500,000 from a loan platform to finance gambling activities.
“These revelations starkly contradict his mother’s earlier allegations of negligence against the university,” Dr. Suleiman stated.
He emphasised that Siwajuola was granted a fair hearing and that his expulsion was in accordance with both institutional policy and global disciplinary standards. While condemning the “malicious public accusations” made by the student’s mother, the university commended his father for his cooperation and integrity throughout the investigation.
