FCCPC to Arraign MultiChoice Executives October 7
The Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) has secured 7 October 2025 as the date for arraignment of the Chairman of MultiChoice Nigeria, Adewunmi Ogunsanya, and the company’s Managing Director, John Ugbe, for alleged breaches of the FCCP Act, 2018.
Justice James Omotosho fixed the date following a request for adjournment by FCCPC counsel, Chizenum Nsitem, citing failure to properly serve the defendants court documents including the hearing notice.
The court granted the application, adjourning the matter to allow for proper service and ensure the defendants appear to enter their pleas.
Others listed for arraignment include senior executives of the pay-TV firm: Fhulufhelo Badugela (CEO, MultiChoice Africa Holdings), Retiel Tromp (Chief Financial Officer), Keabetswe Modimoeng (Group Executive, Corporate Affairs), and directors Adebusola Bello, Fuad Ogunsanya, and Gozie Onumonu (Head, Regulatory Affairs and Government Relations). The company itself is also named in the suit.
The charge contains seven counts filed against the defendants.
