Tinubu’s Policies Boosting Investor Confidence — Dangote
Africa’s richest man and founder of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has commended President Bola Tinubu’s economic policies, describing them as investor-friendly and instrumental in stabilising the business environment.
Dangote made the remarks during a weekend visit by Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, to the Dangote Refinery and Fertiliser facilities in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos.
He praised the administration’s Naira-for-Crude policy and the Nigeria First initiative, saying they had helped address crude supply challenges facing domestic refineries.
“We must appreciate President Tinubu for insisting that crude oil be sold in naira. This policy has significantly improved our ability to meet local demand,” he said.
Dangote observed that the reforms had also brought relative stability to the naira-dollar exchange rate, allowing investors to make more informed decisions.
“There is now a level of predictability in the market. This allows businesses like ours to plan more effectively and helps strengthen investor confidence,” he said.
He also lauded the government’s One-Stop Shop (OSS) initiative, which brings regulatory and security agencies together under a single platform to streamline operations. He noted that the OSS had resolved bottlenecks in loading operations, with agencies such as the Navy, NIMASA, and NPA now working collaboratively.
Looking ahead, Dangote revealed plans to deploy 4,000 compressed natural gas (CNG) tankers to enhance petroleum distribution and reduce logistics costs, which would result in more affordable products for Nigerians.
