Victor Osimhen Completes €75m Transfer to Galatasaray
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has completed a permanent move to Turkish club Galatasaray in a deal valued at €75 million — the highest in the club’s history.
The Turkish champions confirmed the signing on Thursday, announcing the conclusion of negotiations with Napoli, who had loaned Osimhen to Galatasaray last season.
“In the context of the transfer of professional footballer Victor James Osimhen, an agreement has been reached with SSC Napoli. A net transfer fee of €75 million will be paid to the former club,” Galatasaray announced via its social media platforms.
Osimhen, 26, signed a four-year contract and will earn €15 million per season. The deal also includes a €1 million loyalty bonus and €5 million for image rights. Napoli will additionally receive 10 per cent of the profit from any future sale of the player.
As part of the agreement, Osimhen will not be allowed to sign for any Serie A club in the next two years.
Reacting to the move, the Nigerian forward expressed joy at rejoining Galatasaray permanently. “I feel truly great. I’m so happy to be part of the Galatasaray family again,” he said on the club’s website.
“Thanks to the President and Vice President. With the team spirit we have, I believe we can achieve even greater success. We’ll give everything on the pitch — in the league, the cup, and especially the Champions League.”
Osimhen was instrumental in Galatasaray’s domestic double last season, scoring 37 goals and providing eight assists in 41 appearances.
The deal marks the end of a long-running transfer saga and a turbulent relationship with Napoli, which saw Osimhen frozen out at the beginning of the previous campaign.
