PSG’s Ousmane Dembélé Wins 2025 Ballon d’Or
Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé has won the 2025 Ballon d’Or, edging out Barcelona teenager Lamine Yamal for world football’s most prestigious prize.
The 28-year-old Frenchman received the award at a ceremony in Paris, where Brazil legend Ronaldinho presented him with the trophy. Dembélé helped PSG achieve a historic treble last season—winning Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, and the UEFA Champions League.
He also led the club to the FIFA Club World Cup final, scoring 35 goals and providing 16 assists across all competitions. He was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year and UEFA Champions League Player of the Season.
Since leaving Barcelona in 2023, Dembélé has enjoyed a career resurgence under coach Luis Enrique, excelling in a central attacking role after years of injury struggles.
In the women’s category, Spain’s Aitana Bonmatí won her third consecutive Ballon d’Or, ahead of Arsenal duo Mariona Caldentey and Alessia Russo. Bonmatí was also named best player at both the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.
Other awards included:

- Hannah Hampton (England) – inaugural Yashin Trophy for Best Women’s Goalkeeper.
- Lamine Yamal (Barcelona) – Kopa Trophy for Best Young Player.
