From Lagos with Loyalty: APC Backs Tinubu for 2027 Return
Stakeholders in Lagos State and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office, praising his visionary leadership and commitment to national unity and development.
The endorsement took place on Monday during a high-level stakeholders’ engagement in Lagos, attended by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ministers, federal and state legislators, traditional rulers, and party chieftains.
Governor Sanwo-Olu, who presided over the meeting, described the gathering as a reflection of unity and shared purpose among Lagosians.
“We are truly happy as a people because today we can see unity in action,” he said. “This is about our roots, about Lagos, and about what we all stand for as stakeholders who believe in the vision of our President.”
The governor commended members of the National Executive Council, the Federal Cabinet, and lawmakers for their contributions to national progress. According to him, the engagement provided a platform for representatives from the National Assembly and the State Executive to express their continued confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership.
“Our President has listened to all our stakeholders here today,” Sanwo-Olu added. “By unanimous decision, we have resolved that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should present himself to continue leading our nation for another term.”
He urged stakeholders to remain steadfast in supporting the administration’s ongoing reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s economy, infrastructure, and social development.
The motion for Tinubu’s endorsement was moved by Oba Kabir Sotobi, the Ayangburen of Ikorodu, and seconded by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa.
In his remarks, Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat highlighted the achievements of the state government under the THEMES Plus agenda.
He noted that over the past six years, Lagos had recorded remarkable progress across key sectors including security, education, and entertainment.
“I say with confidence that the THEMES Plus agenda is not just a slogan; it is a blueprint for progress — a plan anchored on deliberate, inclusive, and sustainable development, from infrastructural renewal to human capacity building. Lagos continues to move forward with incredible energy and purpose,” Hamzat said.
Also in attendance were former governors Babatunde Fashola and Akinwunmi Ambode, as well as local government officials and party leaders.
The APC State Chairman, Mr. Cornelius Ojelabi, led other party executives and members in endorsing Tinubu.
The event concluded with a round of applause and solidarity chants reaffirming Lagos’ commitment to the Tinubu-led administration.
