JAMB Extends Public University Admission Deadline to 17 November

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for the completion of 2025 admissions into public universities from Friday, 31 October, to Monday, 17 November 2025.

The Board’s Spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, announced this in a statement issued on Monday in Abuja. He said the decision followed emerging circumstances, including a court order that temporarily halted the 2025/26 admissions process — an order lifted only on 28 October 2025.

Dr. Benjamin added that the extension also took into account the release, on 29 October, of a list of 229 newly accredited programmes across 37 universities by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

He commended the diligence and commitment shown by public universities in meeting the earlier deadline, which was intended to allow other tertiary institutions to complete their admissions before the overall national closing date of 31 December 2025.

“In light of these developments, and to ensure fairness and inclusiveness, the Board hereby extends the deadline for the completion of 2025 public university admissions to Monday, 17 November 2025,” the statement read.
“The new deadline is final and must be strictly adhered to.”

Dr. Benjamin reaffirmed JAMB’s commitment to a transparent and credible admissions process aligned with national education goals and institutional autonomy.
