Wike Commends Tinubu for Lifting Rivers Emergency Rule
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has praised President Bola Tinubu for lifting the state of emergency in Rivers and restoring democratic governance.
In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, Wike said Tinubu’s decision once again underscored his commitment to peace and democracy in Nigeria.
According to the former Rivers governor, the President’s timely action not only stabilised the state but also renewed the confidence of Rivers people in his leadership.
He commended the residents for their belief in Tinubu and for their continued support of his efforts to return Nigeria to a path of progress and development.
Wike urged stakeholders in the state to set aside differences and work together in the collective interest of the people. He also warned those he described as “fifth columnists” and habitual crisis profiteers to steer clear of Rivers.
“From Rivers State going forward, the only news that will emanate will be that of peace, progress, and development,” the minister said.
