Hamzat Intensifies Stakeholder Consultations Ahead of Lagos Governorship Primary
Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has intensified consultations with key political stakeholders ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2027 governorship primary election.
Hamzat’s recent engagements included meetings with members of the Governance Advisory Council (GAC) and senior party figures across the state.
Among those consulted were Chief Muraina Akanbi Taiwo and Sen. Idiat Adebule.
Hamzat also held discussions with Chief Oluwamuyiwa Sosanya, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe, Chief Reuben Basorun, and Prince Biodun Ogunleye, according to posts on his X account.
“Building on earlier engagements, our discussions remained honest and forward-looking, focusing on the future of Lagos.
“I am grateful for their insights and commitment to the progress of Lagos as we focus on the path ahead,” he stated.
The deputy governor also met Alhaji Femi Okunnu and Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, whose contributions, he said, added depth to policy discussions.
Further consultations included a meeting with Alhaji Shakiru Seriki, the Apase of Epe Land and a GAC member.
“These continued engagements are vital for listening and staying connected to the people we serve,” Hamzat said.
He had earlier met former Governor Babatunde Fashola and Mrs. Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, a former APC Women Leader in Lagos State.
The deputy governor began the consultation series on April 13 with a visit to GAC Chairman, Prince Tajudeen Olusi, alongside other influential stakeholders.
