Shakira, Burna Boy to Release Official 2026 FIFA World Cup Song

Colombian pop star Shakira and Nigerian Grammy-winning Afrobeats artiste Burna Boy are set to release the official song for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, titled Dai Dai, on May 14.

FIFA selected the track as the official anthem for the global football tournament, which will be jointly hosted by Canada, Mexico, and the United States from June 11 to July 19.

Shakira unveiled a minute-long clip of the song on her X page, featuring Burna Boy.

In the video, the Colombian singer appears inside Brazil’s iconic Maracanã Stadium holding the “Trionda”, the official World Cup match ball, while performing a verse in English, with Burna Boy harmonising alongside her.

The pair are later joined by dancers dressed in the colours of countries participating in the tournament.

The teaser, which was also shared on the FIFA World Cup account, ends with fireworks above the stadium as the camera zooms out and displays the message: “We’re ready!”

Shakira previously performed Waka Waka (This Time for Africa), the official song of the 2010 FIFA World Cup hosted by South Africa.

Released in May 2010 and featuring Freshlyground, the song became a global hit and remains one of the most celebrated World Cup anthems.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to kick off on June 11, with Mexico taking on South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City.
